Osteopathic Council. She also has training in cranial osteopathy. You are safe in
her hands. She has done extensive training since qualifying and has a particularly

Can I help you?
Osteopathy is best known for back pain, but osteopaths can treat most pain or restriction.
Feel free to phone and ask how it may help you with symptoms of asthma, IBS, colic,
headaches and sinus pain. Treatment aims to speed up healing of injuries and strains
so is good for sports injuries too. Katharine is able to give you advice on avoiding
injuries and holds workshops at the practice on stretching and avoiding injury.
She has a broad clinical experience which ranges from treating back pain to treating
singers' diaphragms to improve their voices!
Please phone 0800 902 0452 for more information.
What happens in a session ?
The details of your symptoms are taken, as well as any previous problems and the
state of your general health. Observations are made of your body standing, moving
and lying down. After a relaxing treatment advice and any necessary exercises may
be given. To see the sort of questions you will be asked have a look at the case
history. Every effort is made to keep you well informed at TW osteopathy. We also
offer rehabilitation such as stretching and preventative advice.
Please phone 0800 902 0452 for more information.
Can my GP refer me?
Many GPs work alongside or even employ osteopaths in their practice. Osteopathy
is now acknowledged by GPs as being safe and effective in the area of back pain.
It is advised as part of a management plan including exercise and painkillers. (Search
on UK Back pain Exercise And Manipulation randomised trial for more information.)

Sports injuries
We are happy to treat sports injuries at TWosteopathy. Often releasing any old injuires
that are hanging around gives excellent results with symptoms that appear unrelated.
Within your session stretching and exercise advice is available. We work closely
with a local Pilates instructor for an integrated approach to getting fit again.
Why Pilates? Even athletes such as Pat Cash have found that good fitness levels
don’t mean that you can use your body efficiently. Try it and feel muscles you never
knew you had get reawakened…I did!

Rehabilitation
At TWosteopathy we are committed to all our patients leaving the practice having
made long term improvements to their health. Rehabilitation is well catered for
at TWosteopathy. Within your session stretching and exercise advice is available.

Mums and babies
Many postural changes occur as you move into the second and third trimester of your
pregnancy. Repeated sickness, giving birth, as well as lifting cots and breastfeeding
can all challenge a mothers’ body. Osteopathy can help you adapt to these changes
and prepare for the delivery by keeping your back and hips mobile. We don’t offer
a crèche facility at the practice but you are welcome to bring children of all ages.
Some books and toys are available to keep children busy while you or they have a
treatment. The waiting room is big enough for a partner, buggy and several children.
